I Feel So Isolated

January 20, 2021 by Debra Hallisey

I Feel So Isolated

I created this video two and a half years ago. No one could have predicted that a world wide pandemic would isolate our loved ones to a degree where there is a visible decline in many of them.

We are not out of the woods yet and I have a challenge for you. How will you continue to reach out or reach out in new ways, to help an elder feel loved and heard? After a year it is easy to be exhausted and not contact them consistently but it is more important than ever.

For mom and I it is a daily phone call that includes a discussion of what is going on in the world along with catching up on family members. Since we can’t get to be with people outside of our small bubble, talking every day, sometimes multiple times a day is more important than ever.
