“Nurses Were My Guardian Angels” Lisa

May 10, 2021 by Debra Hallisey

“Nurses Were My Guardian Angels” Lisa

I have the privilege of knowing Lisa Candito through my work. Lisa is the business manager for Springpoint at Home and since I write for their website, we interact over billing. I appreciate her warm and caring personality, her efficiency and her patience when I have a question.

Last March, I was asked to send my invoices to another person and thought nothing of it. But redirecting those invoices went on quite a while. When I heard that an employee had COVID-19, it crossed my mind that it could be Lisa.

This is Lisa’s story of surviving COVID-19. It is heartwarming, compelling and a testament to the nurses who saw her through a month-long ordeal. They are, as Lisa calls them, her “guardian angels” and there is no better time to honor them than National Nurses Week. It is also a great reminder to get vaccinated because as Lisa says, “It is important to get vaccinated, if not for yourself but for others’ wellness and safety.”
