Dementia Expert Teepa Snow On Driving, Elopement and “I Want To Go Home”

Teepa Snow is a world-renowned dementia specialist who is leading the charge to ensure that anyone can use proven techniques to interact and work with someone living with a progressive brain disease.

Through her company Positive Approach to Care, Teepa creates resources for family and professional caregivers, the medical community and others via YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, family and professional consults and her website: https://teepasnow.com/.  These resources are designed to give a person with dementia a better quality of life and help their caregivers to be more successful and less frustrated. Her goal is to make them available “in the moment” across all her platforms for anyone.

Teepa was a recent guest of the video podcast “Still Time for Joy with Sandra Levine.” During their time together, Teepa and Sandra hit on a variety of topics from how to handle driving and elopement, to redirecting when someone wants “to go home.”

Helping people to understand the importance of curiosity and knowing someone’s history along with the need for hope to combat resistance, are just a few of the golden nuggets to be found in this half-hour program.

To learn more about Positive Approach to Care techniques and the practical suggestions Teepa has for you, here is the direct link to the video on YouTube: https://youtu.be/2iTTLVaE9JA?si=1-SrN4Ihf4MwZ6iG.

Debra, Thank you very much for sharing this vital information about Teepa Snow. Through her website, social media, countless trainings, and much more, she is changing the course of dementia caregiving. I learned about Teepa Snow from you, and I am forever grateful. I only wish I had known about her sooner, when I was a caregiver for my mom during her Alzheimer’s journey.
Every family should be told about the availability of such resources at the first sign of concern about brain changes.
Thank you for all the incredible work you do to support family caregivers.
    Sandy Levine
